Trash to Treasure: Coin Container

One of my New Years Resolutions for 2013 was to focus more on Reducing and Reusing as opposed to Recycling. (Read more about it here!) I decided to start this year off with a simple project that incorporates my goals and takes care of a need around the house.

Coin Container

Keep your laundry room organized by designating a place for those loose coins! We've just been dumping them on top of the washer and it was time for a change. Avoid a trip to the store by using an empty container already in your home and make it a little more visually appealing by dressing it up a bit.

I used a small peanut container. Make something too big and you'll never do anything with those coins, they will just sit there for years! Make your container small enough so that when it gets full, you have to use the coins.

Tape or glue your first raffia end to the bottom of the container. Glue is probably best, but I only had tape. Wrap your raffia all the way around and then tape or glue the last bit!

My raffia was a bit messy, so I trimmed it up a bit with a pair of scissors.

Last, find a spot in your laundry room for your new container to live.
